An identity for Greendrop, formed by Nico Bass and David Skipper, music producers in the house music industry, but more specifically tech-house. Signed to Wall to Wall Records in 2013 they have played at venues such as Ministry of Sound.
Brief for the Greendrop identity
The target audience ranged from mid-teens and late thirties to early forties. The clients didn’t have a permanent identity as such. A logomark and wordmark were required for the brand. A simple colour palette was also needed which was refined.
The colour palette was already there to begin with, although it needed careful refining and thought. House music is fresh, vibrant, energetic and youthful. This was essential within the identity. The green used in the colour palette accomplished this and tying this in with black gave the name and logomark what it needed without becoming too overpowering. Demographics also had to be considered.
The namestyle for the identity was created using the font Battlefield. Creating a memorable word and mark was essential. The logomark was manipulated to created bespoke shapes for both halves of the descriptive letter forms.
“The creative communication process for the development of our new logo was refreshing and inspiring, I found Ian’s knowledge and experience within graphic design comforting throughout the whole process and the end results were beyond what we had imagined.
I would highly recommend his services as it was 1st class from start to finish.”
